Post Concert Message: 23rd October 2021
Wow – what an evening! A hearty VERY WELL DONE & THANK YOU – to everyone who rehearsed, took part in, and assisted with our concert this evening.
A truly wonderful and most enjoyable evening of stunning music, of an excellent standard…and especially with only 7 weeks of rehearsals.
Many thanks to our truly amazing and talented soloists – who are only 18 years of age – and each have such bright and successful futures ahead of themselves.
– Thomas Luke played all 30 mins of his 5 movements without music. Utterly perfect and with astounding musicality.
– Aaron Briggs’s solo is the most challenging and gymnastic of Faure’s solos – and was delivered with such calm confidence and pitch. Superb.
– Poppy Gallerwood’s stunning Pie Jesu – what an absolute delight and such high standard vocal quality all throughout.
We were so privileged to have them join us in our first concert in two years, and it made the evening all the more special.
And of course, an enormous THANK YOU to our amazing Musical Director Rachel, and Accompanist Richard – their dedication, leadership, direction, encouragement, support and confidence in us – is essential to our success and so appreciated by us all.
A truly fabulous effort, commitment and passion from everyone.
